Abstract
This study focuses on examining the changes in the Gyeong-Yeong Short Course Marathon. Firstly, it investigates the context of the Korean marathon at the time of the competition's establishment. Secondly, it delves into the process of the competition's creation and changes in its organization and sponsorship. Thirdly, it analyzes the participant demographics and course variations and records developments for the competition. During the Japanese colonial period, significant marathon competitions were organized by Japanese groups, with both Joseons and Japanese participating together. The number of participants in these competitions increased over time, spreading from Gyeongseong to various regions, eventually evolving into a nationwide event. The race records from the first to the sixth competitions are challenging to compare due to frequent changes in the course. However, the records improved from the seventh competition when the trail became more stable. Before Korea's liberation, notable athletes such as Kim Eun-bae, Son Ki-jung, and Nam Seung-ryong, among others, participated in the competition and achieved commendable results. After independence, athletes like Seo Yun-bok, Ham Ki-yong, Hwang Young-jo, and Lee Bong-joo, who represented Korea, also participated and performed well in the competition.

Abstract
eSports was selected as an official event at the Hangzhou Asian Games. The IOC also recognizes the industrial and economic value of expanding opportunities for the younger generation to participate in the Olympic movement and expanding new sports at the Olympics. Based on this, the IOC set up an Olympic eSports Week and held a virtual simulation event in Singapore. In addition, VR Taekwondo was adopted as an event of the game. However VR Taekwondo is necessary to improve performance and expand the base of Taekwondo, but if you approach it only with the expansion of Taekwondo's domain or the IOC's interest, you will understand only part of the meaning of eTaekwondo. Discussions based on the eSports of Taekwondo go beyond the Olympic virtual series. This is because the problem of eSports in taekwondo is linked to what can be composed of future academic areas depending on how eTankwondo is defined according to the development of digital technology. Therefore, this study is to discuss what eSports and eTakwondo are, and why eSports of Taekwondo are needed. The necessity of eTaekwondo should be considered in terms of understanding the digital world, understanding digital experiences, and understanding Taekwondo culture. eTaekwondo should be created as an opportunity to change perceptions of Taekwondo through understanding of the digital world and digital experience, and should provide an opportunity to spread Taekwondo culture around the world in the process of eTaekwondo's operation.

Abstract
With the technological change in digital media, how did humans become eSports players? This study seeks to explore eSports culture from the perspective of Marshall McLuhan. McLuhan's concept of tetrad refers to repetitive media effects, and has the characteristics of ‘enhancement’, ‘obsolescence’, ‘retrieval’ and ‘reversal’. According to him, the expansion of the human senses is characterized by a gradual individualism, a revival of sensations and experiences that have been pushed aside by existing media, the presentation of new functions, and the remediation of a new culture with the content of past media. From this point of view, eSports culture has the following characteristics in its hybrid relationship with digital media and the humans who play. First, eSports culture enables non-face-to-face online competitive matches, expands the global network among players, and strengthens free communication and mutual exchange. Second, eSports culture has led to a decline in face-to-face offline play, the physical environment for traditional sports competitions, and the use of gross motor kinesthetics. Third, eSports culture has shown the emergence of online games based on traditional sports, the phenomenon of sportsfication of online games, and the entry into digital sports culture through the expansion of new approaches to eSports technology and competition. Fourth, eSports has expanded the base of eSports culture as a global community culture based on traditional sports and games in such a saturated state of media, and opened up the possibility for all generations to participate in a new digital sports culture. This shows that ‘eSports is the message’.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to diagnose the possibility of preventing safety accidents in sports through the improvement of the life sports instructor (ski) qualification system and to present guidelines for the improvement of the qualification system. To achieve this research purpose, expert FGI was conducted, and the results obtained are as follows. First, there are three major types of sports safety accidents. Accidents caused by individual carelessness or lack of preparation, accidents caused by leaders' violation of duty of care, and accidents caused by neglect of facility management were derived as the main causes. Second, the leader's role is clearly important to prevent safety accidents, and it seems necessary to establish a direction for improvement. Since there is no legally specified part of the safety duty for leaders, countermeasures are needed. Therefore, changes to the sports coach test system that grants national qualifications must be implemented. Third, as for the strengthening direction of the qualification system, new subjects such as identifying learner characteristics, planning and executing training programs according to characteristics, and evaluation areas related to safety management were newly established by establishing teaching areas for field evaluation as well as theory and practice, as in overseas cases. Especially, in the case of ski certification, it is important to evaluate the ability of the instructor to diagnose and prevent overall safety because it is a movement directly related to safety.,Through this, it is judged that it will be very helpful for ski activation if it strengthens safety consciousness to general skiers and leads to recognition that skiing is a safe sport.

Abstract
This study conducted a big data analysis on middle-aged sports after entering Korea's aging society. The data quantified the degree of relationship through frequency analysis, N-GRAM analysis, matrix analysis, and connection degree centrality analysis, and clustering used the Clauset-Newman-Moore method to maximize modularity. In addition, the network was visualized and analyzed through the connection structure of words and CONCOR analysis, and the conclusions are as follows. First, the area consisting of jobs, activities, reporters, support, generation, youth, age, increase, knees, shoulders, use, golf, products, brands, proteins, health, exercise, etc. was named the ‘wellness trend’. Second, the area consisting of keywords such as bananas, nutritional supplements, drinks, powders, home training, hosting, leisure sports, programs, business, products, reviews, pain, diseases, tennis, and hiking was named ‘Smart Healthcare’. It is expected that such changes in interest and perception of middle-aged and elderly sports activities will have a significant impact on the upcoming super-aged society, so it is necessary to take an active response strategy and adaptation plan with interest in the formation and change of this perception socially.

Abstract
This study aimed to understand the experiences of Baby Boomers who engage in badminton as a serious leisure. In-depth interviews were conducted with 13 Baby Boomer badminton participants. Giorgi's (1985) phenomenological analysis method was adopted. The analysis of participants' narratives revealed characteristics of serious leisure, such as perseverance, significant effort, career development, strong identity, unique ethos, and durable benefits. Particularly, durable benefits were found to be connected to the factors of Rowe & Kahn's (1997) successful aging model. Baby Boomers perceive leisure activities as a means to fulfill various desires and recognize durable benefits as a bridge to successful aging. Lastly, the badminton is seen not only as a physical activity but also as an opportunity to maintain or recover health and as a social space for interaction. Therefore, findings of this study is meaningful in that it explored diverse meanings that badminton offers to Baby Boomer participants and how serious leisure activities can play a significant role in successful aging.

Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to understand the trends in safety-related research in the field of sports science in South Korea using text mining and network analysis, and to provide insights into the direction of research. To achieve this, a total of 3,984 studies related to ‘safety’ in the field of sports science in South Korea after the year 2000 were searched using research portals such as RISS, KISS, and KCI. Through data refinement, a total of 283 keywords were selected. The R version 4.0.5 program’s “tm” package and the “sna” package were using for wordcloud and network analysis. The results are as follows: Firstly, based on the wordcloud analysis of the selected keywords, words such as “safe”, “sport”, “education”, “accident”, “management”, “leisure”, and “facility” were prominent in descending order. Secondly, in the analysis of the centrality of safety-related keywords, the following keywords were ranked high: “safe”, “sport”, “education”, “management”, “facility”, “accident”, “leisure”, “body”, “security”, and “activity.” Thirdly, the analysis of keyword cluster formation revealed that the cluster “safe, culture” was linked, while the cluster “accident, prevention” formed another group. Additionally, the cluster “swim, education, body, school, water, leisure, analysis” was selected. Through these findings, it can be inferred that safety-related research trends in the field of sports science in South Korea predominantly revolve around topics related to “sports safety”, “safety education”, “safety accidents” and “safety management”. Therefore future research could expand its scope to encompass various themes aligned with megatrends such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, climate and environment, and an aging society. Furthermore, if research is conducted to improve governmental policies and regulations related to sports safety, it is anticipated that it could contribute to the advancement of a comprehensive sports safety culture and the formulation of policy measures.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a conceptualization model for sports authentic leadership based on Aristotle’s virtue idea to specify the concept of sports authentic leadership. To solve this problem, the research procedure was conducted in the order of literature collection, literature analysis, and content description. First, in the literature collection stage, Aristotle’s Nikomachos ethics book, related research, and the results of categorization of the four factors of existing sports authentic leadership(self-growth, true attitude, balanced leadership behavior, and human communication) were collected. Second, the literature analysis examined the reasonable context and meaning to specify the process of forming the character of the leader presented by sports authentic leadership based on the collected results. Through this process, Aristotle’s virtue ideology, including intellectual virtue and character virtue, was considered. Third, in the content description stage, the contents reviewed in the literature analysis were summarized to help empirically understand the concept of character formation emphasized in sports authentic leadership. Therefore, a conceptual model was established that embodied the process of forming the character of sports authentic leadership. The developed model will contribute to supporting the concept of sports authentic leadership while noting that the leader’s own growth should precede.

Abstract
Recently, discussions on corporate social responsibility have developed into the concept of creating shared value. Sports-related companies and organizations are no exception. Among them, sports public interest corporations that realize public values through sports urgently need to introduce a sustainable management method. This study is to prepare a plan to revitalize the creation of shared value of sports public interest corporations. To achieve the purpose of this study, research questions were set based on cluster development among the shared value creation strategies proposed by Porter & Kramer. As a research method, an in-depth interview was conducted with a total of nine expert panels from related academia, public corporation executives, and CSV practitioners to present key elements in the cluster development sector to revitalize shared value creation, and a total of three Delphi surveys were conducted to draw consistent conclusions while repeatedly agreeing on this. The results of this study are as follows. Four items were derived as activation measures through cluster development: “cooperation and exchange of local governments,” “organization of sports industry-academia research,” “establishment of a network to participate in corporate sponsorships,” and “formation of a sports manpower pool.” The discussion and follow-up studies based on the results of this study were also presented. In summarizing the conclusions of this study, it is judged that sports public interest corporations, which must simultaneously pursue public interests and profits converted from voluntary organizations to special corporations, presented basic empirical data in establishing shared value creation strategies based on cluster development.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the responses of IL-6, HSP70, and HSP90 in men and women through acute aerobic exercise in young adult men and women who were not adapted to exercise. The subjects were 16 healthy adults(8 males and 8 females) in their 20-30 years old, and aerobic exercise was performed for 40 minutes at a speed of 5.5km/h by applying the treadmill gradient when the maximum heart rate reached 70% in a pre-graded exercise test. Heart rate, body temperature, lactate and immuno-related factors(IL-6, HSP70, and HSP90) were measured pre and post exercise. Statistical analysis was performed using two-way repeated measures ANOVA after testing for normality(α≤.05). As a result, IL-6 was significantly increased in both groups at 1 hour after the end of exercise compared to at rest(male p <.001, female p <.01 vs. Pre), male were statistically significantly higher than female(p <.01). In the case of HSP70, there was no difference between in female, but in male it was significantly highest at 1 hour after the end of exercise(p <.001 vs Pre). Additionally, HSP90 showed no change between groups and times, and male showed a more sensitive response to immune factors that may appear in the initial exercise compared to female. In follow-up studies, changes in the pattern, duration, and exercise intensity should be attempted along with indicators that can represent various signaling pathways.
A Philosophical Study on Virtual Sports Space Seen through Lefebvre’s Spatial Theory 르페브르의 공간이론을 통해 본 가상 체육공간에 대한 철학적 논고
김소미 Kim So Mi , 김정은 Kim Jeong Eun
DOI:10.23949/kjpe.2023.11.62.6.20
Abstract
The study was conducted in an attempt to examine the ecological change of the educational environment along with the practical demand for virtual physical education (PE) activities as an extended sport activity. The literature review was used as the research methodology, and Henri Lefebvre’s Theory of Space was used as an interpretive indicator. Lefebvre’s Spatial Triad was applied as an analysis framework to achieve the purpose of the study. The specific examples, education vision, and its limitations on virtual PE activities were discussed through each analysis level of spatial practice, representations of space, and representational space. First, the technology of virtual space has the great advantage of converting to a body merged with machines. Indubitably, it is impossible to have a direct physical relationship among the bodies. However, it has educational significance in the sense that the physical activity is unfolded at the border between the virtual state and reality. Second, virtual space is also one of the places that has become a space for PE activity. From a semantic perspective of space production, physical appropriations such as personal technical skills and biorhythm occur in virtual PE activity spaces as much as in sports stadiums and gyms. Such experiences eventually form topophilia of space attachment and familiarity. Third, when examining the technical characteristics of virtual PE space from the context of ‘spatial practice,’ ‘representations of space,’ and ‘space of representational,’ educational utility is expected as an experienced space as to that of naturalized space. This is the interpretative study of the educational vision of virtual sports activity. It aims to contribute to the philosophical discussion on the significance of fundamental PE activity from realistic and virtual experiences.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the impact of physical activity programs on the locomotor skills of children and adolescent with developmental disabilities. The research involved the analysis of 617 participants from 32 selected studies conducted in South Korea from 2004 to August 2023, which met the selection criteria. Variables such as age group, type of physical activity program, and the effects on running, galloping, hopping, leaping, horizontal jump, and sliding were calculated, and the validity was confirmed through publication bias. The research results showed that physical activity programs had a significant effect on improving the six locomotor skills for children and adolescent with developmental disabilities. Among the physical activity programs, jump rope, walking exercise, balance exercises, basketball, movement concept development, sensory integration, new sports, perceptual-motor exercises, and rubber band games had particularly significant effects. Running and galloping were most positively influenced by basketball, hopping by movement concept development exercises, leaping by walking exercises, and horizontal jump by balance exercises. Therefore, this study provides comprehensive information and effect sizes by categorizing physical activity programs by type, contributing to the applicability and utilization of such programs in subsequent research and practical settings for children and adolescent with developmental disabilities.

Abstract
This qualitative research study aimed to identify the key requirements for a successful bid for the 2038 Daegu-Kwangju Summer Asian Games and develop corresponding strategic plans. Eight participants were selected through the criteria group method for in-depth interviews, and a thorough analysis of relevant papers and reports supplemented the research. The study identified four essential requirements for a successful bid. Firstly, the lack of consistent decision-making and communication channels between the two major cities collaborating on the bid, which requires extensive discussion and cooperation. Secondly, the urgency of creating sports facilities and necessary infrastructure to support the Games. Thirdly, the deficiency of a bond of sympathy and positive public opinion from citizens to host the Games. Lastly, demand of appropriate diplomatic strategy to engage with international sports organizations. Based on the findings, four strategic plans were formulated. Firstly, the urgent establishment of a bid committee that can communicate effectively and make decisions efficiently, supported by a competent working group. Secondly, the development of clear and comprehensive plans for infrastructure development, publicly announced to demonstrate transparency and commitment. Thirdly, the establishment and enforcement of a public relations strategy to foster positive public opinion and support for the bid. Lastly, the development of a diplomatic strategy that effectively engages with officials from international sports organizations to promote Korea and its vision for the Games.

DOI:10.23949/kjpe.2023.11.62.6.24
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the stress perception process of athletes, understand negative stress and positive stress, and derive keywords that are key to converting stress into positive stress. Metacognitive awareness was discovered as a key step in the process of changing the perception of positive stress.
The participants in the study were at least national team candidates with extensive player experience, and data was collected through in-depth interviews with 7 players with professional player experience. Afterwards, open coding, axial coding, and selective coding suggested by Strauss and Corbin were applied and analyzed in that order. As a result of open coding, 6 high-level categories, 28 low-level categories, and 215 concepts were derived. A paradigm model was derived through subsequent axial coding. In this model, the causal conditions were stressful situations, including injury and re-injury, burden (environmental), emotional hurt, result orientation, and negative effects of the game. The contextual conditions appeared to be a vicious cycle caused by negative changes due to stress, threats to competition opportunities, repetitive mistakes, irrational judgments, and negative thinking. The central phenomenon was the physical and psychological response caused by stress. Negative reactions were negative thoughts, while positive perceptions included the importance of learning and practice and finding breakthroughs. As a result, negative perceptions were extracted as poor performance, repetition of negative stress, and re-injury, while positive perceptions were extracted as recovery of performance, influence of major hitters, and acceptance. In selective coding, two stress recognition processes were extracted three-dimensionally: a table of the process of first recognizing stress and a table of the process of converting to positive recognition. The core category in the process of positive recognition is presented as ‘metacognition is the key to growing inner strength,’ and the outline of the story is described accordingly. This study distinguished the positive and negative effects of stress and provided a detailed discussion on the process by which stress is perceived positively by athletes.

Abstract
This study aimed to explore how factors such as gender, age, exercise level, and sports activity habits affect the severity of injuries in recreational and professional athletes. We analyzed raw data from the “2019 Sports Safety Accident Survey” conducted by the Korea Sports Safety Foundation. The data included responses from 11,745 people who had experienced injuries, 7,725 of whom were recreational athletes and 4,020 were professional athletes. The data from their responses to 17 survey questions involving nine items were analyzed using multinomial logistic regression. The results revealed that for recreational athletes, moderate injury severity (compared to mild) was greatly influenced by sex, age, exercise level, frequency of sports activity, time spent per single activity, and level of safety knowledge. Meanwhile, serious injury severity (compared to mild) was seemingly greatly influenced by sex, age, exercise level, frequency of sports activity and time per single activity. In professional athletes, moderate injury severity (compared to mild) significantly correlated with exercise level, time per single activity, and age, particularly in those aged 40 years or older compared to the 13-18 year age group. Meanwhile, the severity of serious injuries (compared to mild ones) were seemingly greatly influenced by age, exercise level, time per single activity, and level of healthcare. In conclusion, to effectively prevent injuries, sports organizations should prioritize safety education, especially for young recreational athletes. Recreational and professional athletes must develop customized training plans by adjusting the intensity and frequency of training according to their age and expertise. Additionally, infrastructure must be established to enable professional athletes to access high-quality health services to improve their health management levels. Considering the heterogeneous results and the changing sports environment, continued research will be important for tailoring and updating injury prevention strategies.

From May 1st to June 30th, 2023, a two-month survey was conducted using the Delphi method and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with an expert group and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) with an instructor group. First, a new conceptual framework, Sports Safety PREP, was established based on the Delphi study and a comprehensive literature review. It comprises four main factors, namely a precautionary mindset, emergency response, regular habits, and precautionary behavior. Second, AHP analysis ranked the 16 subfactors, identifying the top priorities: safe sports mindset, accident prevention methods, safe behavior performance, regular safety environment checks, and ongoing safety education improvement. Lastly, IPA analysis pinpointed the Ⅱ quadrant (Concentrated Efforts), where critical items like a safe sports mindset, ongoing safety education improvement, and safe behavior performance overlapped with the top priorities identified by AHP. In conclusion, Sports Safety PREP promotes a safe and sustainable sports environment, bridges the gap between experts and coaches, and expands safety education.

Abstract
This study aims to analyze the patterns of injuries, causes, and treatment methods of participants in life sports and professional sports by event, utilizing association rule analysis. The analysis data for this study were derived from the raw data of the 2019 Sports Safety Accident Investigation conducted by the Korea Sports Safety Foundation (2020). Specifically, data on items related to sports events, injuries, causes of injuries, and treatment were collected. Descriptive statistics were performed using Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS 25.0, and association rule analysis was conducted using the Apriori library in Python(version 3.8). The study presented the following results: First, there were more participants with two or more injuries in professional sports than in sports for all. Second, sports participants with two or more injuries show a pattern of suffering ankle injuries when they have knee and wrist injuries, and it is necessary to be careful because they can also suffer additional ankle injuries when they have other injuries. Third, among the injury association rules in sports for all participants, the pattern with the highest reliability was ‘racquet event - wrist injury - excessive motion - cold compression,’ and in the case of professional sports participants, ‘racquet event - ankle injury - excessive motion - cold compression.’ The findings of this study can provide fruitful implications for preventing sports-related injuries by identifying injury patterns.

What Does It Mean by Internal Consistency? 도대체 내적일관성이란 무엇인가?

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to define internal consistency, used as a tool for quality of measurement. To this end, internal consistency was examined from the semantic and the measurement model points of view. In addition, the definition is also checked in relation to Cronbach's α. Internal consistency has begun to be used since Cronbach(1951) proposed to use the internal consistency coefficient as the meaning of homogeneity. Homogeneity is close to validity and α is only appropriate in a very limited measurement situation. When approaching the model, internal consistency is one type of reliability, unlike Cronbach's intention. Semantically, it has the meaning of reliability as behaviour or performance that is always the same or similar. Internal consistency can be defined as the degree of consistency of the measurement result that takes into account the mean difference of the items as the lower bound of the reliability when the test is administered just one time, which is assumed to measure the same construct to replace the repeated trials.

Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to explore the effects of manipulating the QE duration on the performance of an interception task in elite baseball batters, thereby advancing our understanding of the functional importance of visual information for planning precise actions and guiding online control and spatial references in a temporally constrained interception task. Ten elite male baseball hitters from a local university participated in the study. They were asked to respond as accurately and quickly as possible to a stimulus traveling from a target presentation point to a target arrival point at varying speeds, directions, and timings of change in stimulus presentation. They were required to match the stimulus and hand action at the goal point. We analyzed the duration of QE1 (target presentation point) and QE2 (target arrival point), the location of gaze and hand action, and the spatial connectivity of gaze and hand action at the target arrival point. An increase in the speed of stimulus movement was found to shorten the pursuit gaze (QE1) at the initial target and pre-terminate saccades (QE2) at the point of goal arrival. In directional stimuli, the QE1 duration was reduced in the upward direction compared to the middle direction. This reduction in the QE duration was associated with poorer performance. These results suggest that gaze fixation during the interception task may serve as preprograming at the point of target presentation and as a spatial reference for hand action rather than online control at the final goal arrival point.

Abstract
This study aims to interpret human existence, closely related to sports safety, based on Martin Heidegger’s concept of ‘Angst(Anxiety)’ under the theme ‘Approaching Sports Safety through the Lens of Authentic(Eigentliche) and Inauthentic (Uneigentliche) Human Existence’. Heidegger argues that Dasein(human existence), being-in-the-world, should confront anxiety to assert authentic existence over inauthentic existence based on his views, confronting the anxiety manifested in one’s role and interpreting the being-in-sports as an authentic existence can be understood as follows: First, sports participants must detect signals of anxiety from their bodies to protect themselves safely, recognizing that sports inherently contain elements of anxiety, hence engaging in sports activities suited to their level. Second, sports coaches and referees need to detect the existing anxiety in sports, understand the complex state of the participants, and foster a safe sports environment. Third, sports facility managers and event operators should strictly follow the rules and norms while facing anxiety as an authentic existence, identifying its causes and preventing accidents. In conclusion, sports participants, coaches, referees, facility managers, and event operators should fulfill their responsibilities and duties corresponding to their positions and roles as authentic existences. In other words, if humans within the realm of sports safety exist authentically, creating an ideal being-in-the-world of sports safety would be possible.
